Windblown Tree Branch Nearly Impales Long Valley Driver
Long Valley resident was on Coleman Road during thunderstorm when falling arbor rocketed through his car windshield.

Long Valley, N.J. – The damaging wind and rain storm that swept through northern New Jersey Thursday afternoon wreaked havoc on trees and property, and one Long Valley resident missed serious injury – or worse – by a matter of inches.
Steven Petouvis was driving down Coleman Road at 3:15 p.m. as the storm rushed through town when a tree branch came flying through his front windshield like a spear, narrowly missing the driver.
Washington Township Police and the Long Valley First Aid Squad rushed to the scene to treat Petouvis, who fortunately only suffered minor cuts to his head from the glass and tree limb that “clipped” his head, he said.
