WMCHS Class Of 2012 Grad Killed In Motorcycle Crash

LONG VALLEY, NJ — Obituary provided by the William J. Leber Funeral Home:

John Michael Wallace, 25, of Long Valley, NJ, passed away as the result of injuries sustained in a motorcycle accident on Friday evening, May 24, 2019. John was born on December 18, 1993, in Newton, NJ. He has lived in Long Valley for the past 13 years and previously lived in Randolph and Newton, NJ. John graduated with High Honors from West Morris Central High School in 2012 and was a member of the French Honor Society. After high school, John attended Rowan University studying Engineering. He decided that engineering was not his thing; and decided to attend Morris County College studying Business Management. John finally decided he wanted to follow in his brother, Jimmy’s footsteps and become a lineman. He was accepted into the 5-year JCP&L lineman program earning an Associate of Science in Electric Utility Technology at Raritan Valley Community College. At the time of his death, John was a third-year lineman apprentice for JCP&L.

John’s favorite activity was riding his Harley motorcycle, and he was a member of the North Crew Motorcycle Club in West Milford, NJ. In high school John played Varsity Football and was a Varsity Wrestler. John loved working out and weight lifting throughout his life. He liked fishing and hunting with his brothers and father and loved being outdoors. John also enjoyed cars, especially his ’73 Dodge Charger that he rebuilt.

John is survived by his mother, Tracy Johnson, and husband, Bill Knorr; father, John Wallace, and wife, Alethia; his sister, Jessica Cahill and husband, Dave; his brothers, Jimmy Floyd, and wife, Jennifer; Keith Floyd; Gregory Wallace; Anthony Sposato and husband, Dominic; his goddaughter and niece, Skylar Floyd; and nephew Gabe; and many other aunts, uncles, cousins, and beloved friends. While they had not dated long, John believed he had found his perfect partner in Katelyn Sterling.

Even in death John will be helping at least fifty people due to his giving nature and through his wish to be an organ and tissue donor. John’s giving nature made him special to everyone that had the opportunity to know him. John has left a void that will never be filled in all that loved him. You are the best son, brother, uncle, nephew, and friend that anyone could ever wish for. We love you, John!

A Celebration of John’s Life will include a visitation from 4pm to 8pm with a 7:30 pm funeral service on Wednesday, May 29, 2019, at the William J. Leber Funeral Home, 15 Furnace Road (Corner of Rt. 206), Chester, NJ (908) 879-3090. John’s final interment will be held privately.
