2 Rockland EMTs Die In Crash With NJ Driver
An Elizabeth man was hospitalized and two New York men have died after an overnight crash on the New York State Thruway.
SUFFERN, NY — Two New York men are dead after an overnight crash on the New York State Thruway involving a third man, from Elizabeth.
According to a Patch report, New York State Police were dispatched to the site of the crash on Interstate 87 southbound in Suffern at 1:34 a.m. Monday morning.
Moshe Herzon, 18, of Spring Valley, New York and David Z. Schneebalg, 26, of Monsey, New York, were pronounced dead on the scene. Both were EMT's, members of the William Paul Feist Ambulance Corps and the Haverstraw Ambulance Corps.

Police say Herzog attempted to change lanes southbound when his Chevrolet Tahoe collided with a Peterbilt tractor-trailer operated by Luis A. Velazquez, 59, of Elizabeth.
According to Patch, the crash sent both vehicles off the road where they eventually came to a stop in a ditch along the wood line.

The Tahoe operated by Herzog caught fire, and Velazquez was trapped in the cab of his truck, eventually requiring extrication.
He was transported to Westchester Medical Center for unknown injuries, according to the Patch report.
