American Dream Mall Plans Month Of Holiday Fun

EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ - ‘Tis the season to be jolly.

American Dream has planned a holiday season filled with free photos with Santa, performances, shopping and other family-friendly activities.

Here are a few of the events planned at the new Meadowlands mega-mall.

American Dream's Indoor Ski Park Will Open Dec. 5

Pictures with Santa

The mall’s events court will be transformed into a winter wonderland, where visitors can get a 5x7 print + digital photo with Santa between Dec. 5 and 24. No appointments are needed and Santa Claus is fluent in English, as well as Spanish. Suggested donations benefiting Make-A-Wish® New Jersey, our holiday non-profit partner, are encouraged.A complete listing of Santa’s schedule for the holiday season is available here.

Santa will also be one of the first visitors to Big SNOW, the mall’s indoor ski park, when it opens Thursday.

Celebrate the season with Coca-Cola

On Dec. 7 and 8, Coca-Cola will unveil an "immersive snowscape environment," that includes a gif booth where guests can sled down a mountain, complete with Coca-Cola branded winter gear.

Guests can enjoy new Coca-Cola Cinnamon and Sprite Winter Spiced Cranberry flavors.

Winter Market

The Winter Market will give visitors a place to shop for gifts, as well as sample snacks. Vendors include A’Jar Sweet Cream Factory, Bang Cookies, Italian Alps Gelato, Grisini Coffee, Ladurée, Pandora, Robin Ruth, Sleet & Sole, The New Stand and Unique Flowers.

Face painting

Face painters will be in the tree court and Nickelodeon Universe Theme Park on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from Dec. 6-22, as well as Dec. 24 and 24. Hours will be posted online.

Chanukah celebrations

A special Chanukah Skate at The Rink will be held December 22 from 5:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m., with DJ Jon spinning and a menorah lighting at 6:00 p.m.

The community will gather to celebrate the last night of Chanukah on December 29 from 5:30 p.m.– 6:30 p.m. with a menorah lighting in the Events Court at 6:00 p.m.

Holiday performances

American Dream will welcome local schools and community groups performing holiday hits throughout the winter wonderland. Enjoy performances several times throughout the afternoon on Dec. 7, 14, 21 and on Dec. 8, 15, 22.

Whoopi's pop-up shop

Whoopi Goldberg’s limited edition Christmas and Chanukah sweaters are on sale at her pop-up shop, which is open through Jan. 2020. Her new book ‘The Unqualified Hostess’ is also on sale.

American Dream, the massive $5 billion Meadowlands shopping and entertainment venue opened Oct. 25 unveiling Nickelodeon Universe Theme Park and an NHL-size ice rink. Other attractions, shopping and dining will follow over the next several months.

DreamWorks Water Park, an indoor water park that will include the world's largest indoor water coaster, a free fall slide with a 70-foot drop, a lazy river and a 1.5-acre wave pool was supposed to open Nov. 27, but the mall recently announced it would be delayed until further notice.
