Attention Kids: You Can Be A LEGOLAND Reporter

Kids, if you want to know the latest happenings about the massive LEGOLAND amusement park coming to the area, then this is the opportunity for you.

The park is looking for a team of kid reporters to cover its opening and construction. The park will open in Goshen, New York in 2020. (See related: Take A Virtual Tour Of LEGOLAND Amusement Park Opening Near NJ)

The team will cover the park's First to Play pass launch event in April. Kids will do at least five reports for the park's website and social media channels before it opens and attend the grand opening.

Applicants need to post a one-minute video on Facebook with the hashtag #LLNYKidReporter, explaining why they be the perfect choice to be a LEGOLAND New York kid reporter. Videos can also be emailed to: llny.kidreporter@LEGOLAND.com.

Applicants need to be between 6 and 12 years old and live within 100 miles of the park. Winners will be announced Feb. 28, 2019.

The amusement park will have: A LEGOLAND factory, Lego City, Heartlake City, for the "Friends" line, Miniland, Pirates Shores, the Ninjago Zone, and Bricktopia, which will have "all kinds of weird" Lego creations. There will also be a large model of New York City made of Lego bricks.

There will also be:

• An immersive 250-room LEGOLAND Hotel, which will feature hundreds of Lego models.
• The LEGOLAND Driving School, where kids will learn how to drive a LEGO-themed car.
• A 4-D movie theater that will show a variety of LEGO movies.

The $350 million amusement park will be off of Route 17 in Orange County, New York. It was originally slated to open in 2019.

LEGOLAND New York will be open from April to November. The hotel will be open year-round.

It will be even larger than the LEGOLAND Discovery Center coming to the the American Dream Meadowlands, which is slated to open in 2019.
