Bergen Wastewater Tests Signal Increase In Community COVID Spread

Bergen County's ongoing wastewater testing program indicates that the current concentration levels of COVID-19 are similar to those from the late fall and early winter of 2020, which were followed by a spike in cases.

There were 7,210 new positive coronavirus cases in Bergen County in March, county officials said.

Rep. Gottheimer Highlights Bergen County Infrastructure Needs

Rep. Josh Gottheimer and other state and county leaders gathered under the Route 4, Hackensack River bridge on a recent cloudy morning. The location allowed Gottheimer and others to highlight the region's infrastructure needs.

It's just one of the 1,352 structurally deficient bridges in New Jersey's fifth congressional district, which is only a fraction of the state's 6,801, according to the American Road and Transportation Builders Association.

Community Mourns Death Of Mahwah Mom Killed By Ex-Husband

Friends and Bergen County community members have used a GoFundMe page to share fond memories of Mahwah mom Massiel Deoleo, who died in what authorities are calling a murder-suicide over the weekend.

Yesenia Torries created the fundraiser page originally to raise money for Deoleo's funeral and three children. It's done that, collecting over $24,000 in just two days, but has also turned into a memory board for many who knew her.

24 COVID Cases Push Glen Rock High School To Remote

Glen Rock High School shifted to remote learning after 14 COVID-19 cases were reported to the district after spring break, and another 10 were reported Tuesday.

It should be a short pivot though, as officials expect students back in the building Monday.

Menswear Store Psycho Bunny Opens In Paramus

Psycho Bunny opened in the Garden State Plaza on March 31, marking the brand's 10th store, and first permanent "monobrand" location in the Northeast.

The 1,500 square-foot Paramus store marks the first opening of more than 15 scheduled across the country this year, a representative from the brand said.
