Bergen Runner Breaks National Record With 3-Minute Mile
Jeremy Hernandez, a senior at Ramapo College, also set a new collegiate record with his sub 4-minute mile.

MAHWAH, NJ — Senior runner Jeremy Hernandez ran the race of his life Sunday.
Hernandez, a Clifton native, raced in the BU Last Chance Invitational. He finished the 1-mile race in 3:59.01 — a new national Division III collegiate record. Hernandez attends Ramapo College of New Jersey.
Hernandez also broke the college record, which stood since 2016.

Hernandez finished the competition ranked ninth and lost only to Division I runners and competitors from Ghana and Japan.
Next for Hernandez is the ECAC Indoor Division III Championships March 2 and 3 in New York.
