Bergen Wrestler Makes History At Rutgers University
Nicholas Gravina, a redshirt senior, is the 1st 4-time Academic All-Big Ten selection in Rutgers University history.
BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Nicholas Gravina has made history for Rutgers University.
Gravina is the first four-time Academic All-Big Ten selection in Rutgers University history. Honorees must be enrolled at a Big Ten school for at least 12 months and have a cumulative grade point average of 3.0 or greater.
“Nick is everything you would ever want in a student-athlete,” said head coach Scott Goodale. “He does everything right, works hard both in the classroom and on the mat, and is a tremendous student-athlete.”

Gravina is majoring in psychology.
Gravina is from Allendale and a graduate of Northern Highlands Regional High School. He was a four-time district, region, and county high school champion. He was named an All-American his freshman and junior seasons.

Gravina is the second Rutgers wrestler from Bergen County to make history this season.
Nick Suriano, a Paramus native and former Bergen Catholic star, made it to the 125-pound national championship final. It was the farest a wrestler advanced at the NCAA championship in Rutgers history.
