Dangerous Heat Forecast For Bergen County Thursday, Could Feel Like 100 Degrees

The National Weather Services urges caution.

MAHWAH, N.J. — The National Weather Service issued a heat advisory for Thursday from noon to 8 p.m. when the heat index could reach 100 degrees.

The advisory is in effect for Bergen County and much of North Jersey.

The high temperature could be 93 degrees and the heat index as high as 100 degrees, the NWS forecast stated.

There is a 30 percent chance of scattered showers and thunderstorms after 4 p.m.

The elderly, those with chronic health problems, such as lung and heart disease, and people working outdoors will be at increased risk of heat-related health issues, the NWS stated.
