Field Station Dinosaurs Is Back With A Roar
The 2017 season features a brand new 3D movie in an air-conditioned theater tent and a puppet show.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Field Station: Dinosaurs is back with the same family-friendly fun as it had last year, and with a few new things to enjoy.
Thirty-four life-sized animatronic dinosaurs are scattered throughout 14 acres of land in the Henry Hoebel section of Overpeck Park in Leonia.
A Spinosaurus will be added the park soon, officials said. The dinosaur was chosen after an election last year.

The 2017 season features a new 3-D movie in an air-conditioned tent, a shadow puppet show and a musical "Hey Ho Haddy." The Super Stars of Science program is back on Saturdays in July and August with guest experts in the fields of paleontology, geology and paleo artistry. The Dinosaurs After Dark program will be back in September and October.
“The tents are up, the dinosaurs are ready and our staff is looking forward to greeting dinosaur fans young and old alike as we open our park for the 2017 season,” said Guy Gsell, the executive producer of Field Station: Dinosaurs. “While we look forward to moving into our permanent location on the other side of Overpeck County Park next year, we are committed to making this a spectacular season to remember for all our guests.”

The park is still at its temporary home in Overpeck. A more permanent, 35-acre space in the Teaneck section, across from the Glenpointe Hotel, will open next year.
The park used to be in Secaucus until it lost its lease on the property to make room for a new high school campus. It relocated to the park last year.
The first year was not without its challenges. A 90-foot-long Argentinosaurus was destroyed after it caught fire weeks before it was supposed to open.
