Flash Flood Watch Issued For Bergen, Passaic Counties

Rain will be heavy at times this morning with the potential of additional heavy downpours this afternoon, the National Weather Service said.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — A flash flood watch has been issued in Bergen and Passaic counties, the National Weather Service announced.

The watch is in effect "through the afternoon," the NWS said. Smaller rivers, streams, and areas with poor drainage could flood.

Rain will be heavy at times this morning and potentially this afternoon when heavy downpours could blanket North Jersey.

One to two inches of rain is forecast to fall before tapering off this afternoon.

Flooding has already been reported in Mahwah and on Route 208 in Franklin Lakes, authorities said.
