Free Tree Seedlings Available In Mahwah Saturday
Residents can get up to five seedlings.

MAHWAH, N.J. — The Mahwah Environmental Commission will distribute tree seedlings to residents Saturday.
The giveaway is part of the New Jersey Tree Recovery Campaign, which began after Superstorm Sandy hit the Garden State in 2012.
Residents may select up to five trees on a first-come, first-serve basis. About 1,000 seedlings are expected to be available, said Jonathan Marcus, commission vice chairman. A variety of trees, including maple, birch, oak, dogwood, and pine trees may be available. The seedlings will to 2 to 4 feet tall.

The giveaway will be in the Mahwah Municipal Building parking lot at 475 Corporate Drive from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., rain or shine.
The giveaway is a partnership with the Arbor Day Foundation and the New Jersey State Forestry Service.
