Giovanni 'Gio' Pertuz, Mahwah Firefighter, Dies Suddenly
'Gio' was the president of Company 2.
MAHWAH, NJ — Giovanni Pertuz, 49, a firefighter and incumbent president of Fire Co. 2, has unexpectedly died, fire officials announced Monday night.
"This sudden and unexpected occurrence leaves our membership with a heavy heart," a post on the company's Facebook page read. "Our thoughts and prayers go out to Gio's family and friends during this difficult time."

Mahwah Fire Chief Kenneth Warnet could not be reached for comment via phone or email.
