Cord Meyer was named Fire Chief during the mostly virtual ceremony on New Year's Day.
MAHWAH, NJ — The Mahwah Fire Department and EMS held their annual swearing in ceremony on New Year's Day.
Though the pandemic altered how they were able to do it, it didn't put a halt to the event, and the appointments made there.
"Even amongst COVID, on January 1st members of Mahwah Fire Department and Mahwah MEMS continued the tradition and were safely sworn in to the positions they were elected for as officers for 2021," the fire department wrote on Facebook.
