Mahwah Golf Player Wins Amateur Championship
Matt Mattare won the 115th Met Amateur Championship. He is a member of Darlington Golf Club.
MAHWAH, NJ — A member of a township golf club won the Metropolitan Golf Association 115th Met Amateur Championship Sunday.
Mattare is a member of Darlington Golf Club.
It was the third time he played in the tournament, suffolktimes.com reported, and he wasn't even planning to at first.

“You never know whether you’re going to get another chance,” Mattare told the website. “To be able to make it back and get over the hump is an unbelievable feeling.”
Mattare has played well of late. He also won the Philadelphia Open and finished second at the Ike Championship recently, the website reported.
