Mahwah Native, Star Kicker Signs With New Orleans Saints
Patrick Murray went to Don Bosco and played for the Fordham Rams before playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Cleveland Browns.

MAHWAH, NJ — Township native Patrick Murray has signed with the New Orleans Saints.
The former Don Bosco ironman comes to the Saints after playing for the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for the 2014 and 2015 seasons. He played for the Cleveland Browns last year, making 21 of 26 field goal attempts and 34 of 35 extra-point attempts.
He only played in two games for the Browns during the 2016 season and was placed on injured reserve.

During the 2014 season, he made 20 of 24 field goal tries, including 13 consecutively made, and 31 point-after attempts.
Murray, 26, played for four years at Fordham University as the Rams placekicker and punter, appearing in 44 games, NewOreleansSaints.com reported. He converted 38 of 54 field goals and tallied nearly 2,400 yards on 52 punts. He won the Fred Mitchell Award for being the best non-Football Bowl Subdivision kicker in NCAA Division I football.

Murray was a three-time varsity letterman at Don Bosco and was an All-State player his senior year, helping the Ironmen win state group championships from 2006 to 2008.
Murray has three uncles and cousin who are national Gaelic football players in Ireland, the report said.
Murray purchased gifts for children's hospital patients and visited them during the holiday season while with the Buccaneers.
