Mahwah School Calendar 2018-19: First Day Of School, Vacations

MAHWAH, NJ — The first day of school in Mahwah is September 6 — and whether you and the kids are looking forward to the new school year or are dreading the end of summer, you’ll want to mark the date on your calendar ASAP. The Mahwah District has released its 2018-2019 calendar for public schools.

The calendar includes important dates, such as winter and spring vacations, religious holidays, federal holidays, early dismissals and parent-teacher conferences.

Here is the full list of dates to know for this school year:

• 9/4 - 9/5: Opening Days for Staff
• 9/6: First Day of School
• 9/10: No School (Rosh Hashanah)
• 9/19: No School (Yom Kippur)

October

• 10/8: No School (Columbus Day, Staff Development)

November

• 11/5 - 11/7: Parent/Teacher Conferences Grades Pre-K-5 (Single Session Pre-K-5 Only)
• 11/8 - 11/9: No School (NJEA Convention)
• 11/21: Single Session
• 11/22 - 11/23: No School (Thanksgiving Recess)

December

• 12/21: Single Session
• 12/24 - 12/31: No School (Holiday Recess)

January

• 1/1: No School (New Year's Day, Holiday Recess)
• 1/21: No School (Martin Luther King Jr. Day, Staff Development Day)

February

• 2/18 - 2/19: No School (Winter Recess)

March

April

• 4/15 - 4/19: No School (Spring Recess, Good Friday)

May

• 5/27: No School (Memorial Day)

• 6/20: Single Session, Grade 8 Promotion Exercises
