Mahwah Schools Close Thursday Ahead Of Winter Weather
The district will use a snow day Thursday, as a winter storm is expected to bring snow to the area.
MAHWAH, NJ — Mahwah Public Schools officials have called a snow day ahead of a Thursday storm which could bring up to five inches of snow to the region.
Snow could start this morning, according to the National Weather Service, but periods of light snow and a wintry mix could continue into Friday.
Four to eight inches are expected over the two-day period.

The winter conditions — including a "light glaze of ice" — could create a tricky commute Friday morning as the storm affects visibility and road conditions.
No decision has yet been announced by the district for Friday's schedule.

Snow, mainly before 4pm. High near 33. Wind chill values between 20 and 30. Northeast wind 6 to 9 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of around an inch possible.
Friday Night
A 40 percent chance of snow, mainly before 10pm. Cloudy, then gradually becoming partly cloudy, with a low around 26. Wind chill values between 20 and 25. Northwest wind 6 to 9 mph.
