New York - New Jersey Trail Conference Finds New Home In Mahwah

The conservation organization established its new headquarters at the Darlington Schoolhouse.

An interstate environmental conservation organization has moved into the Darlington Schoolhouse.

The New York - New Jersey Trail Conference will now call the historic building on the corner of Route 202 and Darlington Avenue its headquarters.

The organization undertook a lengthy preservation project to restore the old schoolhouse, raising funds and initiating a variety of projects over the course of several years.

According to their official website, the new headquarters will include “A visitors center and virtual gateway for connecting people to nature via trails and Trail Conference programs, and a training center with multi-purpose classrooms and meeting space in a green, energy-efficient building.”

The organization’s mission is to promote and protect nearly 2,000 miles of public land and trails in the New York - New Jersey metropolitan area.
