Robert LaMontagne, 'Lifelong' Mahwah Firefighter, Dies At 70

LaMontagne was also a member of the Mahwah Board of Health.

MAHWAH, NJ — Robert L. LaMontagne, 70, of Mahwah, a lifelong member of Mahwah Fire Co. No. 1 died Saturday.

LaMontagne died "peacefully surrounded by his family after a brief and brave battle with cancer," his obituary stated.

He served on the Mahwah Board Of Health. He was Army National Guard veteran and a member of the American Legion.

He enjoyed spending time with this grandchildren and was loved by all who knew him, the obituary states.

He was predeceased by his brother Richard.

He is survived by his wife Barbara; daughters Renee, Aimee and Lisa; grandchildren Hannah, Liam, Aiden, Hayley and Emily and his brother Donald.
