Robert Worth, Mahwah Museum Founding Trustee, Died Dec. 12

He wrote a short film about Mahwah in the 1700s and participated in the museum's first exhibit, 'Mahwah's Farming Past."

MAHWAH, N.J. — Robert R. Worth, a founding trustee and long-time treasurer of the Mahwah Museum, died last month.

A post on the Mahwah Museum's webpage chronicled Worth's life and work with the museum.

Worth, 83, received a bachelor's degree in economics from Lafayette College and a master's in business administration from Wagner College.

Worth and his wife Lynne moved to Mahwah and 1984. They were introduced to the Mahwah Historical Society.

Before retiring in 1998, he worked for Werner & Pfleiderer in Ramsey.

Worth became a founding trustee and life member of the Mahwah Museum in 2000. He participated in the museum's first exhibit, "Mahwah's Farming Past," and to "March to Victory: Mahwah in the American Revolution."

Worth was an avid collector of Crocker Mansion memorabilia. The mansion is a 75-room mansion modeled after an English castle and overlooks the Ramapo Valley. He curated an exhibit about the mansion called "Victorian Splendor: The Great Estates of Mahwah."

Worth also wrote and supervised the editing of a brief film about Mahwah in the 1700s that is shown at the museum.

Worth is survived by his wife, children, Jeffrey and Jennifer and grandchildren Gunnar, Sarah, Sara, Gregory, Kenneth, Michael and great-grandchildren Gianna and Zoe.
