Thousands Without Power In Bergen County As Storm Hits

Nearly 7,000 people have reported outages on Thursday. A flash flood warning is in place.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Nearly 7,000 Bergen County customers have reported outages as of 4:15 p.m. on Thursday as storms bring heavy rains to the area. A flash flood warning is in place until 6:15 p.m.

PSE&G reports 5,811 customers with outages as of 4:20 p.m. with varied estimates for restoration times. Orange & Rockland reports an additional 1,263 customers without power as of the same time, but has set an estimated restoration time of 8:03 p.m. for the county.

These storms are coming as Hurricane Elsa makes its way up the east coast, slated to bring strong winds and rain to the area on Thursday night into Friday morning. Accidents are also backing up traffic in the county. Read more: All Lanes Closed On NJ 208 In Oakland Due To Jackknifed Tractor
