Over 1,200 Without Power As Fay Impacts Bergen County
As tropical storm Fay impacts Bergen County, reports of flooding surface, along with continued power outages.
BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood watch for Bergen County, in effect until midnight.
PSE&G reports 1,411 customers without power across the county, though has made progress in restoration efforts in Hackensack and New Milford.
In addition to outages, videos of flooding in Bergen County are beginning to surface on social media, including in Englewood and Edgewater.

The Twitter account "@Breaking_4_News" posted video of flooded roads in Englewood, while Ryan Songalia, a reporter at boxing magazine The Ring posted video of Edgewater's drainage system being testing amid heavy rain.

In a Friday morning briefing, the Weather Forecast Office of New York said strong winds are expected beginning this afternoon into Saturday morning, and flash flooding from heavy rain is also possible.

The heaviest rain is expected in Bergen County between 4 and 10 p.m., according to the National Weather Service.
Isolated, weak tornadoes are also a possibility for the entire Tri-State area, according to the WFO.
The NWS has issued a Flood Advisory for Bergen County until 4:15pm. Bands of heavy rain may cause minor flooding.

Tropical Storm Fay, which is moving north through parts of Maryland and Delaware, is already impacting parts of south Jersey as well.
The Village of Ridgewood Office of Emergency Management issued a statement on Twitter, urging residents to use caution if driving today.

The storm is expected to be the first since Superstorm Sandy to directly hit New Jersey. Though the Jersey Shore projects to be the area where the storm makes direct landfall, most other parts of the state will be affected, as the tropical storm warning was issued for nine counties.

- A chance of showers, then showers and thunderstorms likely after 11 a.m. Some of the storms could produce heavy rain. Partly sunny, with a high near 90. Heat index values as high as 99. Southwest wind 6 to 10 MPH. Chance of precipitation is 70 percent. New rainfall amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
