Unquarantined: Bergen County Celebrates The 4th Of July

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Many 4th of July festivities are back in 2021 after facing alterations or outright cancellations in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.

Rising vaccination rates can be credited for the rising balls of fire that will light up the sky on Sunday, and Patch has compiled a list of places where you can watch the fireworks shows. But those events aren't the only thing happening this holiday weekend in Bergen County.

Here's what to know for this weekend:

Just Jersey Food Truck and Music Festival

Where: Westfield Garden State Plaza Parking Lot, Paramus

When: July 4, 2 to 8:30 p.m.

More: The Paramus 4th of July Committee hosts both the 4th of July Fireworks display and the parade earlier in the day annually. For this year, they've teamed up with Just Jersey Fest to add the food truck festival into the equation.

Fair Lawn Fireworks Show

Where: Memorial Park, Berdan Avenue and 1st Street, Fair Lawn

When: July 1, starting at 9 p.m. (Rain date is July 6)

More: "The skies will glow with a multitude of colorful designs and explosions will be heard to honor America's freedom. Bring your family, friends, blankets or lawn chair to Memorial Park. Early arrivals will be treated to music from the "Due South" band. For your convenience vendors will be on location to sell food and drink for your pleasure and enjoyment," borough officials said.

Teaneck Community Celebration Concert

When: July 4, 12:30 p.m.

Where: Votee Park Rotary Band Shell, Teaneck, NJ

More: Festivities begin with the township parade, which starts at the west end of Queen Anne Road and ends at Votee Park. Events and festivities are scheduled at the park from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Things continue with a performance from Total Soul on 4th of July in Teaneck. The group performs an R&B, soul and classic disco style, playing hit songs from "the great artists from the sixties through today."

State Fair Meadowlands

When: Today through July 11

Where: 1 MetLife Stadium Dr., East Rutherford, NJ

More: Free shows, rides and food are all a part of the fun at the Meadowlands during the state fair, but there are also fireworks shows scheduled for Saturday and Sunday this weekend. For ticket and scheduling information, click here.
