Video Allegedly Shows Wide-Open Door On NJ Transit Bus Trip To NY
NJ Transit says it's reviewing the matter since the video was posted on social media and republished by NJ Advance Media.

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Commuters got a bit of a scary ride to New York City Thursday when a door on an NJ Transit bus jammed open and would not close all the way.
As shown in a video posted on social media, the bus is traveling along a street in a residential neighborhood. The opening looked big enough for a person to fit through.
NJ Transit spokesperson Nancy Snyder said the agency is "thoroughly looking into the matter."

"A bus should not be operating with the doors partly open at any time," Snyder said. "We encourage the customer who recorded the video to contact us as any additional information such as a bus number will assist in our investigation."
Commuter Geoffrey Blueman filmed the video on NJ Transit's Route 159 bus from Cliffside Park, NJ.com reported. The route is in eastern Bergen and Hudson counties. Trips on the 159 route end at the Port Authority Bus Terminal in midtown Manhattan.

Blueman told NJ.com that the door's failure to close "was an issue the whole ride. Luckily the driver was able to successfully close the door before (the bus got on a highway to the Lincoln Tunnel."
