Winter Weather Pushes Bergen County Schools Virtual

BERGEN COUNTY, NJ — Bergen County School districts have altered plans for class Friday as remnants from the latest winter storm continue to impact the area.

A winter weather advisory is in effect until 7 p.m., and the National Weather Service said icy road conditions are likely to impact morning commutes.

Bergen County districts have shifted to remote learning in large part, citing these conditions, and the possibility of more snow and freezing rain on Friday.

Here's what districts in Patch towns are doing:

  • Mahwah — virtual learning Friday
  • Ridgewood — virtual learning Friday
  • Saddle Brook — virtual learning, meals served at door #17 at the middle school-high school from 8:30 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.
  • Teaneck — virtual learning
  • Westwood Regional — virtual learning

According to the latest National Weather Service totals Bergen County received up to 4.5 inches of snow by Thursday evening.

  • Park Ridge — 4 in.
