"Pedals" was a beloved bear that walked on two legs and gained a cult following online thanks to videos people took of him. He was reportedly shot with an arrow and died on the first day of a state-sanctioned bear hunt in October — the first of its kind in New Jersey in decades.
The bruins death led to many people posting comments on social media directed towards specific hunters and calls for state officials to ban the already-controversial hunt for good.p>
