4 Running In Manasquan Council Primary In June

Four people have filed to run for election in the Manasquan Council primary election in June.

MANASQUAN – Four people have filed to run for election in the Manasquan Council primary election in June.

Two Republicans – Lori Triggiano and Brian Holly – have filed to run for election in the June 8 primary.

Two Democrats have filed: Councilman Jason Bryant and Charles Kelly.

The June 8 primary election in the Garden State will be primarily in-person, Gov. Phil Murphy has said.

"All of our regularly operated polling places will be open for all voters who wish to cast their ballots on the voting machines," Murphy said at his COVID-19 briefing.

This decision stands in stark contrast to last year's primarily vote-by-mail primary and general election. The much-maligned decision brought with it numerous allegations of voter fraud which were investigated and found to have no impact on any race results.

New Jersey has the option for a mail-in ballot in the form of an absentee ballot for every election. Whether or not some of the changes, like the automatic mailing of ballots, that were part of last year's adjustments for COVID-19 will be repeated remains to be seen.
