MANASQUAN – Manasquan reported its first new COVID-19 cases of the year on Tuesday, saying eight students and one employee contracted the disease over the holiday recess.

School officials said they received several reports from families, amounting to eight total positive COVID-19 test results involving Manasquan High School students who contracted COVID-19 over the holiday recess.

None of these students were in school on Monday and none of the cases occurred during a time where they would have been contagious while in school, which was prior to December 19th, officials said.
