Barclay Demolition Begins

Hall to be replaced by a pair of upscale houses on the 100- by 150-foot lot.

The second day of a three-day demolition of the Barclay catering hall continues today, making way for a pair of upscale houses to be built on the lot.

The iconic hall has hosted numerous events throughout its tenure, but has spent recent years vacant and decaying, a process sped up by damage from Superstorm Sandy.

The homes that will replace it will be built by Belmar-based NorthEnd Builders.
