Belmar Boy, 8, Trapped In Hole On Beach: Cops
The boy was trapped in an 8-foot hole, police said.

BELMAR – An 8-year-old boy was trapped in an 8-foot hole on Saturday on the Belmar beach, police said.
The incident happened at approximately 1:54 p.m. when the Belmar Police Department responded to the 8th Avenue beach on a report of a boy entrapped in a hole that was dug in the sand, police said.
The sides of the hole caved in and the boy was no longer visible, police said.

The Belmar Lifeguards, the Belmar First Aid Squad and the Belmar Fire Department also responded to the scene and, through a coordinated effort, the 8-year-old boy was rescued from beneath the sand.
The paramedics were on standby and assessed the boy at the scene. The Belmar First Aid Squad transported the boy and his parents to Jersey Shore University Medical Center accompanied by the paramedics.
