Belmar Council To Hold Public Hearing On Three Ordinances

The ordinances call for bonding for the potential purchase of the former Belmar First Aid building and a new fire truck.

BELMAR, NJ – A public hearing on a bond ordinance for the purchase of the former Belmar First Aid property is on the agenda for tonight’s Belmar mayor and council meeting.

The ordinance calls for $1.425 million to purchase the building and property, which was first discussed during their May 4 meeting.

The other ordinances up for public hearing tonight are an amendment to another bond ordinance asking for $100,000 more to be bonded out for the replacement of a water main on 15th Avenue as well as an ordinance regarding regulations about the placement of small wireless facilities, which was created in response to a lawsuit filed against the borough by Verizon.

The only ordinance being introduced tonight is for $475,000 to be bonded out towards purchasing a new fire truck.

Tonight’s meeting starts at 6:30 pm and can be watched on Zoom and will be up on the borough’s YouTube page the following day.
