Belmar To Hold Two Ceremonies On Memorial Day

The borough also is naming their new public safety pavilion after a former head lifeguard.

BELMAR, NJ – The borough of Belmar will be holding two Memorial Day ceremonies, both at the Belmar Memorial Park on Main Street between 12th and 13th Avenues.

The first ceremony will start at 9 a.m. and is the Firemen’s Memorial Day ceremony. The second ceremony will start at 9:30 a.m., and the second ceremony will start at 9:30 a.m. and will be led by VFW member Jim Begley.

Also happening this weekend in Belmar is the dedication of the Howard Rowland Public Safety Pavillion on the Boardwalk on Friday evening at Taylor Pavillion.

The pavilion is named after Howard Rowland, who was Belmar’s head lifeguard from 1932 to 1986.
