Discussion On Glimmer Glass Bridge To Happen May 7
County officials are looking to get info and feedback for the summer schedule of opening and closing the Glimmer Glass Bridge.

MANASQUAN—The Monmouth County Division of Engineering will be hosting an outdoor information session about the Glimmer Glass Bridge’s upcoming summer season routine open/close schedule tomorrow, May 7 at the Manasquan Public Parking Lot at Main Street and 4th Ave from 10-10:45 a.m.
At the session, county officials will unveil the proposed schedule and get feedback. After the meeting, the proposed schedule will be sent to the Coast Guard for final approval as the schedule needs to be in place before Memorial Day.
For interested people who can’t make the meeting, the Coast Guard will invite written comments prior to making its decision.

Here’s the county-proposed schedule for the bridge openings:
- From 4:30 p.m. Jan 1 through 8 a.m. April 1, from 4:30 p.m. to 8:00 am, the bridge only opens only if four hours advance notice is given.
- From Memorial Day through Labor Day, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m., Mondays through Thursday, the bridge only needs to open on the hour and half hour if any vessels are waiting to pass.
- From Memorial Day through Labor Day, from 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays, the bridge only needs to be open on the hour if any vessels are waiting to pass.
