Disputed Accounts on Shark River Dredging Project Delays
Who's holding up the project?

There are disputed accounts of just who’s holding up a dredging project in the Shark River.
According to local blog MoreMonmouthMusings, Gov. Chris Christie said at a town hall meeting last week that he believes the project is being held up by local municipalities and the county government, and he would compel the project to get underway if possible.
But the blog said others dispute that account, including Sen. Jen Beck (R-Monmouth) who said the project has been stymied by federal and state agencies that refuse to issue permits to allow dredge material to dry before it is taken to its final dumping location at the Neptune and county landfills.
