A dump truck striking a utility pole created a domino effect resulting in live wires snapping on North Boulevard in Belmar, and a pole landing on top a parked car.
The car was unoccupied and no injuries were reported after the pole fell near North Boulevard and Surf Avenue around 5 p.m. Monday.
Belmar Police and fire personnel were dispatched to the incident, where live wires resulted after the dump truck struck the pole.
JCP&L arrived to cut the power to the affected pole, and traffic cones and barriers were in place as emergency crews responded, followed by the utility company's power repair.
