Ethel Mae Fengya Of Manasquan Didn't Want A Funeral

The 97-year-old asked that people donate to a charity in her name instead of having services.

Ethel Mae Fengya, who died at 97 in September, never wanted a funeral.

Instead, the Manasquan resident had asked the friends and family make donations to charities in her name, according to her obituary.

Ethel died on Sept. 8., with her family by her side.

She is survived by her six children, Sandy, Joy, Mark, Bradd, Dean and Todd.

She lived 97 healthy, full years. Born in Massachusetts, she lived a majority of her life in New Jersey with her husband Edward J. Fengya and her family. She will be loved and missed by all that had the pleasure of knowing her.

She requested that there were not any funeral services and wanted to be remembered as she was; vibrant, healthy and happy. In lieu of flowers, she wanted to have a donation made to a charity in her name. This was her only request.
