BELMAR – Videos this past week showed outdoor dining in Belmar has been a little too crowded.
But Belmar has a list of rules for outdoor dining now that it's allowed.
The rules are in place even though videos showed the typical music-thumping moment you'd see at D'Jais in the middle of the summer. But it was a bit too much for Gov. Phil Murphy's liking, as well as other local officials, in the middle of the coronavirus outbreak.

- An outdoor dining permit is required.
- The establishment must present a sketch of the outdoor dining area.
- The sketch must show the location and dimensions of the dining area.
- The sketch must show the tables, tents and canopies.
- The sketch must show the ingress and egress.
- The sketch must show how to get to and from the bathroom.
- The establishment must show where the lighting fixtures are placed.
- Barriers must be erected between the dining area and street.
