How Much Snow Fell In Manasquan-Belmar Area? Local Storm Impacts

MANASQUAN – Manasquan and Belmar felt the impact of the winter storm on Thursday, which also impacted local services.

"All’s good here. DPW did a good job clearing the snow," Manasquan Mayor Ed Donovan said.

Due to the inclement weather, all recreation activities in Manasquan were canceled on Thursday. Friday's activities will be decided in the morning.

At least 10 inches of snow fell as the snowstorm hit New Jersey, making a mess of roadways. The latest snow totals, forecast and road impacts have been released now that highway restrictions are in place and COVID vaccine deliveries may be delayed on Thursday (see road impacts, vaccine issues, forecast and snow total estimates below).

A Jeep Wrangler drove into a salt truck at 8:50 a.m. Thursday on the Garden State Parkway south at Exit 102, Asbury Avenue in Tinton Falls, said State Police. Read more: Jeep Rear-Ends Salt Truck In Tinton Falls Parkway Crash

Gov. Phil Murphy said the winter weather is causing COVID vaccine "supply chain issues" and that anticipated deliveries will be delayed. He also said five vaccine mega-centers closed on Thursday: Gloucester, Morris, Middlesex, Burlington and Bergen.

Burlington appointments will be rescheduled for Friday while the others will be rescheduled for Saturday.

Murphy said that New Jersey likely has enough supply to handle the delivery delay. "Everybody who wishes to be vaccinated will be," Murphy said.

Murphy also said state offices will be closed and only essential personnel will report for duty. Troopers handled 373 accidents and about 300 motorist aids by 5 p.m.

"Mother Nature is making up for lost time," Murphy said.

• Friday: Snow likely before 2 p.m., then a chance of rain and snow. Cloudy, with a high near 34. Northeast wind 5 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New snow accumulation of less than one inch possible.
• Friday night: A slight chance of snow before 1 a.m. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 24. Chance of precipitation is 20 percent.
