The Belmar Arts Council announced that a special concert will be held to celebrate the life of the Grateful Dead frontman on Saturday.
Jerry Garcia’s life and music will be celebrated on his birthday in Belmar.
The Belmar Arts Council announced that a special concert will be held to celebrate the life of the Grateful Dead frontman, who died 20 years ago, on Saturday.
The event will be called “Golden Gate Park, 1969,” and will include music from the Jefferson Airplane, Hot Tuna and the Grateful Dead. The event will be held at Pyanoe Plaza at 9th Avenue and Main Street in Belmar, according to a Belmar Arts Council release.

Attendees should bring lawn chairs to see performers such as keyboardist, arranger and composer Waynard Schiller and his band, Waynard’s Rainbow Full of Sound. There will also be a special guest performance from Bob Steeler, former drummer for Hot Tuna.
