Manasquan Among Highest In NJ In School Administrator Pay

MANASQUAN — If you're a principal, superintendent or administrator for one of New Jersey's 655 school districts, you can make as much as $176,367 or as little as $1. In Manasquan, you're near the high end.

After delays caused by the COVID crisis, the state has released new information that shows how much your school district budgeted to pay principals, superintendents and administrators in 2020.

Patch put together a list of the median salaries set before the 2020-21 school year, from highest to lowest, as well as the biggest to smallest increases for each school district. Read more: Here's What NJ Schools Paid Principals, Administrators In 2020

The information is part of the state Department of Education's Taxpayer's Guide to Education Spending, which shows the median salary in every New Jersey school district.

Manasquan also had the 77th highest median rate increase: 7.91 percent. By contrast, these nearby districts had rate increases and decreases:

• (328th highest increase) Belmar: 2.43 percent
• (79th lowest decrease) Point Pleasant Beach -4.46 percent

In addition to median salaries, the state's site also shows each district's total spending, average daily enrollment and students from sending districts, the per-pupil costs and the district's total budget spending for 2020.

The median statewide administrator salary is $128,052, a 2.25 percent increase over 2019-20. Last year, the median statewide administrator salary was $125,207, a 1 percent increase over the year before.
