Manasquan Boys' Lacrosse defeat Rumson-Fair Haven For SJGII Title
Momentous win marks first sectional title in program history

Sea Girt - With every passing win, the Manasquan boys’ lacrosse team turns another page in the programs record books.
In Saturday’s 8-4 win over defending champion Rumson-Fair Haven in the NJSIAA South Jersey, Group II final, the Warriors won the programs first-ever sectional title and puts them in the Group II final against the states No.13 team, Chatham; another program first.

After getting beat in the South Jersey, Jersey Group I quarterfinals in each of the past three years, the top-seeded Warriors moved up to Group II and the rest is history.
In addition to winning the sectional title on Saturday, the Warriors extracted a bit of a revenge on the Bulldogs reversing the tables after losing to them 8-5 in the Shore Conference Tournament final less than two weeks ago.

In Saturday’s 8-4 win at the Sea Girt Army Camp, Manasquan held a 5-1 lead at half and maintained a four-goal advantage throughout the second half.
Manasquan led from start to finish with Jarrett Birch scoring the only goal of the first quarter 2:19 into the game for a 1-0 lead.
The Warriors then exploded for four second-quarter goals with Canyon Birch, James Pendergist and Pat Feldstedt all scoring for Manasquan with Feldstedt accounting for two goals in the quarter.
Canyon Birch scored unassisted 1:24 into the third pushing the lead to 6-1 and John Moran added a goal to make it 7-3 before Canyon Birch scored off an assist from his brother Jarrett for his 100th point of the season handing the Warriors an insurmountable 8-3 lead entering the fourth quarter.
Canyon Birch finished with three goals while Jarrett ended with a goal and two assists.
The Warriors (19-4) and Chatham (18-6) will square off in the NJSIAA Group II final Wednesday, June 1 at Livingston High School at 7:30 p.m
