A Route 33 car crash left one car on its side and three others smashed, but police said only minor injuries resulted in spite of the heavy vehicle damage.

Three SUVs and a fourth car were involved in the multi-car crash, which occurred near the hospital in Neptune after 8:15 a.m. Tuesday. One of the SUVs was partially overturned but police said none of the occupants had critical injuries.

Neptune police, fire department and EMS responded, with four tow trucks dispatched to help clean up and move the damaged vehicles. 

Route 33 was partially closed by the hospital at that time for the accident investigation.
