Phyllis Marcolus Of Manasquan Dies At 79

Phyllis Marcolus passed away peacefully on March 6, 2016 at her home in Manasquan following her bout with cancer.

Born Phyllis Testa on April 22, 1936 to Daniel and Edna Testa in Newark, she resided there until she moved to Iselin with her husband Sam in 1961. She was a communicant of St. Cecilia's Parish in Iselin.

She was the past president of the Federated Woman's Club of Colonia. Phyllis worked for Liberty Mutual as an administrative assistant for 25 years and then as a marketer for Viacom. In 1996 Sam and Phyllis moved to Four Seasons at Wall. Phyllis was a member of the Woman's Club at Four Seasons. An avid bridge player she was instrumental in introducing the Bridge Club to her community at Four Seasons. Phyllis loved to travel but playing bridge with her friends was her passion.

She loved shopping, decorating and spending time with her many friends at Four Seasons. Phyllis loved animals and children. She was a friend to the Popcorn Park Zoo in Lacey Township and a donor to St. Jude Children's Research Hospitaldonation.do%3FcID%3D13522%26pID%3D18290% .

Phyllis is predeceased by her father Daniel, mother Edna and husband Samuel. She was the caretaker for her mom and husband during their illnesses. She is survived by her son Rich and daughter-in-law Carolyn and the love of her life, her granddaughter Lauren; as well as her cousin Raymond and Dee La Monica and son Joey.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Thursday, March 10 at Orender Family Home for Funerals, 2643 Old Bridge Road, Manasquan. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 am on Friday, March 11 at St. Denis Church, 90 Union Avenue, Manasquan.
