Silver Lake Pipe Repaired, Paving Continues

Work to repair a collapsed outflow pipe was completed and Ocean Avenue reopened around Silver Lake in Belmar, where the focus has returned toward paving and landscaping the Hurricane Sandy battered lake.

After Hurricane Sandy, the regular pumps and flooding left the surrounding landscaping destroyed, and for the last several weeks efforts have focused on improving the area. Late last week, paving its signature path continued.

But earlier in the week, a collapsed outflow pipe led crews to pump the lake again as waters rose, closing Ocean Avenue temporarily to help drain Silver Lake.

Check out these recent photos from June 21 of the projects at Silver Lake.
