St. Catharine's School Nun Celebrating Golden Jubilee

Sister Carole MacKenthum, a teacher at St. Catharine’s School in Spring Lake, will be celebrating her Golden Jubilee Sunday, school officials said. 

Sister Carole, who entered the Sisters of Mercy in 1963, will be celebrating 50 years as a nun.

In addition to teaching at St. Catharine’s School,  Sister Carole takes a missionary trip to Uganda annually.

St. Catharine-St. Margaret Parish will be holding a celebration mass in her honor on Sunday, September 8 at St. Catherine Church, beginning at 1:30 p.m. 

A reception luncheon will follow at Spring Lake Heights from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. 

The cost to attend is $50, which includes one drink and buffet.  The cost of the gift is also included in the reception fee.
