Surfing, running, fests and feasts mark September in Belmar and Manasquan.

Life quiets down after Labor Day but doesn’t disappear in Belmar and Manasquan. Here are some of the events that round out September.

Belmar

Sept. 10
Belmar Pro surfing competition, Ocean Avenue between 16th and 18th avenues, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Sept. 12
Fallen Hero’s 5K Run, Lake Como, 8 a.m. to 12 p.m.

Sept. 19 and 20
Belmar San Gennaro Festival, Main Street between 10th and 13th avenues. 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Celebrate the Italian heritage on the Jersey Shore as part of the fourth annual Feast of San Gennaro. Enjoy food, a wine and beer garden, live entertainment, music and dancing.

Sept. 19
Meters for Mike Swim, 9th and Ocean avenues, Registration 7 a.m.; race 8:30 a.m. 1500 Meters for Mike is a one-mile open water swim is largest open water swim along the New Jersey shoreline. It both advocates and raises money for traumatic brain injuries.

Manasquan

Sept. 12
Longboard Surfing Contest, inlet beach. The Manasquan Board Riders Classic in which contestants must ride a pre-1967 Classic Longboard. Begins at 8 a.m. Rain date Sept. 13.

Sept. 12
An Evening Under The Eiffel Tower at the Lifesaving Station, 124 Ocean Ave. $20 per person includes 2 glasses of wine, beer, or soft drinks and snacks. Music by Nick Perone. 7 to 9 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at Yellow Daisy on Main Street. Contact (732) 223-2231 for more details.
