Bakery Featured On 'Cake Wars' Moving To Lakehurst
JenniCakes, which had been serving customers from a tiny shop on Hooper Avenue, will have new offerings when it opens in Lakehurst.

LAKEHURST, NJ — JenniCakes, the Toms River bakery that caught the spotlight in 2016 with an appearance on the Food Network's "Cake Wars,"is moving.
"We are excited to announce that JenniCakes will be opening Frosted at 26 Union Ave. in Lakehurst, NJ, coming early November 2018," the company said its Facebook page.
JenniCakes had been ensconced in a small shop on Hooper Avenue, just south of Route 37, but shut down some time last year and Jennifer Richmond, the owner, was working strictly on a by-order basis. She also had been working at Mueller's Bakery in Bay Head.

Her cupcakes and elaborate fondant cakes have remained very popular. In addition to the appearance by Richmond and her staff on "Cake Wars," one of her creations recently was featured in a slideshow about floating wedding cakes on the Martha Stewart Living Weddings website (click here to see it).
The new location also will allow them to expand their offerings, with a full line of bakery products including breads, pastries, cupcakes and more, according to the posting. They also will have a full line of cake and candy supplies.

For those who've been inspired by the creations of Richmond and her staff and would like to learn some of her tricks, the new bakery site will offer "many levels" of decorating classes. They also will host children's birthday parties at the site.
