Board of Education Candidate SARITA DODD Urges Everyone to VOTE!

Today I really pondered on why I and my household vote, not just in this election which includes my name, but in every election. Why we have instilled voting in our children, so much so, that all of them which are of age, are Registered Voters.

We Vote because....

1. We are Patriots. Voting is a privilege given to us as citizens of this great country. It is the land of our birth AND our choice. It, like most of us, has some growing to do to become the ideals that our forefathers dreamed of and that is where our votes come in! We must play an active part in securing our nation’s future, just like our founding fathers did!
2. We are Remembering. We remember all of those who laid down their lives to give the gift of voting to us.
   1. Our founding fathers rose up against their ‘mother country’ to be heard, to have a voice in the course that this land took. They paid with their lives....for us!
   2. Women rose up against inequality to be heard and suffered horrific treatment because they dared to seek the right to vote.
   3. Minorities rose up against prejudice to be heard and were killed for trying to cast a vote.

EVERY ELECTION DAY we remember all of our kinsmen who fought and died without ever realizing this dream but sacrificed themselves so that we could vote!
3. We are Celebrating. We vote in celebration that we can participate in so great an act that could change the course of history for our town, state, and country. We rejoice in the privilege of voting. We are filled with joy that we are given a say. Our opinions matter. If our candidate looses, we know that we took a stand and made our voices heard. However, If our candidate WINS, we know that we had a hand in making it happen!
Let EVERY REGISTERED VOTER go out and Make it Happen! VOTE!!!!
