Manchester Council May Buy Whiting First Aid Property
An ordinance on the purchase is scheduled for a second reading and possible approval in February.

MANCHESTER, NJ — The Manchester Township Council approved on first reading an ordinance to buy the Whiting First Aid Squad property for $500,000.
The property on Lacey Road is being purchased to house the township's paid emergency medical services unit, which was launched in March 2020, right before the pandemic hit, to meet the township's need for EMS services at a time when first aid crews were struggling to field enough volunteers to answer calls.
The Manchester Township Police EMS unit is operated through the police department.
